How to Create A Prayer Strategy That Yields Results

There is a strategy to everything that we do if we want to achieve results. It should be no different with prayer. Having a prayer strategy can help you pray more effectively and effective prayer will yield results.

In order to create an effective strategy you have to be clear about what your prayer request really is. Then you have to align that request with the Word of God. God honors His word.

Here's how you create your strategy:

1. Write down your request. Example: Lose 15 pounds

2. Identify and write down the barrier(s). What is stopping me from losing 15 pounds? Unhealthy eating habits

3. Write down what's required of me to stop the unhealthy eating habits. Discipline and perseverance

4. Write down a scripture on discipline and perseverance. Proverbs 25:28 (discipline) "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Hebrews 10:36 (perseverance) "For you have need of endurance so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

   
   

Now that you have gone through the process of creating a strategy, you realize that your request is not actually to lose weight, but it's more about praying for discipline and perseverance because having those two things will assist you in losing 15 pounds.

The thing that's key is to know that you can't treat prayer and faith like they are magic. There's a requirement from you. For every promise God gives you, there is a prerequisite.

So now that you have your request, you have identified your barrier, you know what is required of you, and you have scripture to support it you can formulate your prayer.

Example Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, I desire to lose 15 pounds. God I confess that I have some unhealthy eating habits. I need discipline and perseverance so I am asking that you give me the wisdom to rule over my spirit and body. Lord don't let me get weary in well-doing, but may I have the spirit of endurance so that after I have done your will, I can receive the promise according to Hebrews 10:36. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.

When you start praying with strategy you start seeing results. Even if the results aren't immediate you will notice that you start to develop in your character and you start to correct your actions so that you become aligned with the scriptures in order to receive the promise.
